Radio Mirchi announces Punjabi Edition of Mirchi Music Awards
Radio Mirchi, India’s leading radio station, today announced the first edition of Mirchi Music Awards Punjabi. With this, Radio Mirchi aims to honour the artistic excellence of the Punjabi music industry, in both film and non-film categories.
Mirchi Music Awards is one of the most prestigious award shows in the country which recognizes musical talents in multiple language viz. Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
The premier edition Mirchi Music Awards Punjabi will present awards selecting from more than 1800 Punjabi songs judged by more than 35 jury members. The jury is composed of some of the biggest names in the industry including Charanjit Ahuja, Rajiee Shinde, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Malkit Singh, Shamsher Singh Sandhu, Dr. Jaspinder Narula, Sachin Ahuja amongst others.
Sharing his excitement on the first edition of Mirchi Music Awards Punjabi, Radio Mirchi North & East SVP and regional director Vivek Modi said, “Radio Mirchi has always been the pioneer in recognizing and awarding musical excellence. Punjabi music is not only rich in heritage & diversity, it extensively influences the Bollywood music of today. To ensure that the entire judging process is fair and transparent, it is done through secret voting, managed by the renowned audit firm Ernst & Young.
The names of winners will be revealed on 14th December 2014, through a grand event at Police Parade Ground in Jalandhar. More than fifteen celebrated artists are expected to perform at the first edition of Mirchi Music Awards Punjabi! The event will be televised on PTC Punjabi.
