UK Asian Music Awards nominees are announced & voting for winners commences
Over the last few months, thousands of Asian music fans have been placing their votes for who they think should be nominated
from the period of 2007 for the annual UK Asian Music Awards (UK AMAs). Voting for nominees via the official website www.theukama.com closed on the last day of 2007. Organisers of the show, UK AMA and Nashi Media Group are pleased to announce the final front-runners for each of the 12 categories for of the highly anticipated awards that are taking place on Thursday 6th March.
Voting via the website has now re-opened and you can vote to help select the winners for each category from the list of final nominees. Voting will close at 12pm on 18th February and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in March at the spectacular Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, London.
Categories open to the public for voting are: Best Album, Best Act, Best Female Act, Best Underground Act, Best Video, Best International Act, Best Newcomer, Best Producer, Best Club DJ, Best Urban Act, Best Radio Show and Best Website.
Organisers of the awards that celebrate the best of UK Asian music are busy creating a fantastic event for both the members of the industry and the public, with entertaining hosts and amazing performances. They aim to not only make the
2008 UK AMAs show bigger and better than before, but also to extend the AMA brand into the mainstream, highlighting the diverse and many genres of Asian music and to promote the popularity and continuous growth of the scene.
Public tickets to the awards ceremony are now available from the Royal Festival Hall box office and the usual ticketing agencies and outlets.
