Ebrahim is amongst a new breed of Asian artists that have taken on the role of producer as well as vocalist. As an accomplished producer, songwriter, drummer, guitarist and vocalist, it’s hard to find a word that fits his talents, other than musician. His inspirations are endless and his debut album the Goldrush is a melting pot of the best element of soul and R&B. Rather than wait for a Major label to give him a golden lift up the industry ladder, Ebrahim, decided to go the independent route and release his album in Canada on Nova Music Group. Goldrush’s potential couldn’t be denied and eventually picked up by Universal. This path led Ebrahim to an opportunity most wait for and never obtain. Goldrush was nominated for a Juno (Grammy’s equivalent in Canada) the most prestigious music award in Canada. Goldrush was nominated for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year.
“Be Alright” is the first single from Ebrahim and it made some serious noise on the other side of the pond and is expected to open a few ears in UK and Europe. The song is a collective effort from Slakah The Beat Child BBE/Universal (July Black, Divine Brown, Nelly Furtado, Ray Robinson, Melane Durant, L-Marie) The guitar led gem is packed with old school harmonies, whilst the remixes will be sure to meet you mood.
With legendary platinum producer Herb Middleton lending his skills on a soulful remix encapsulating lushes baselines, slicing strings and his trade mark bounce. Its not hard to hear why he has produced for the likes of Sean ‘P.Diddy’ Combs, Faith Evans, Mary J Blige, Brownstone, Jill Scott, Biggie Smalls, Nas and many more.
The Drum & Bass remix of “Be Alright” comes from Swara, a production duo (Ravaliya & Kurran Gadhvi) hailing from London with a reputation for blending live Eastern instrumentation with electronica. Having gained recognition for making everything from Drum & Bass to House, Indian Folk to Dubstep, all the way to the unclassifiable! They also scooped up an award as the winner’s of the Future Music Magazine remix competition with the legendary Freemasons. The “Be Alright” D&B remix by Swara represents the ultimate fusion of atmospheric Asian influences with gritty urban sounds.
“Be Alright” get’s a soulful house remix from Misty Dubs, who is the most versatile beat maker in the UK, Misty Dubs is True Tiger's longest serving producer. Having worked with or remixed artists such as MJ Cole, Double S, Ghetto, Ny, Valerie M (Freestylers) and many more, he represents not only versatility but also the ability to score hits in a number of different genres. This remix demonstrates the soulful side of Misty's talents, drawing on influences from Motown, Jazz and funk to create a smooth slice of house & garage for your ears.
Also on remix duty is new kid on the block, A.D.P aged 18, the youngster has compiled a lengthy list of production credits with the likes of, A-Dot, Kan-D-Man, Rabia, Raxstar, AC & Terra, Sabrina Washington (Miss-Teeq), Sirens, Anusha & Zee Kay. With a smoothed layered soulful Desi remix from A.D.P we hope this smash will join his other BBC Asian Network 'Single of the Week' titles.
