'Desi Beats' presented by Saji and Suraj a show dedicated to merge the rich history of Punjab, the glitz and glamor of Bollywood mainstream and underground unknown music, and fuse it in a global fashion that appeals to all demographics.

With a combined academically diverse, and cultured background, both Saji and Suraj are a fresh stars in the media & music world.

Saji's cultured passion for music and fashion has led her through many experiences of the entertainment and media industry; from promoting artist's events, to managing beauty pageants, to becoming a national TV personality, and more recently, being one of the most dynamic voices on radio in the Seattle and Vancouver areas. This talented media lioness ventures through situations which have given her a rich cultural diversity that balances with strong values and beliefs.

Surajpal Channa otherwise known as DJ Suraj, born and raised in Medway, UK. Yet still young, he has been in the music industry for many years djing around the UK, as well as playing Tabla, Dhol and other instruments for renowned singers and professionals.

Suraj is creating a wide range of unique commercial sound, he has always been all for different music genres and is developing a diverse approach to his production skills.

Getting into the musical spirit at an early stage was all thanks to his grandfather who encouraged him to learn the Tabla. After spending his childhood playing kirtan every weekend with Ragis all over the SE of England, his skill and technique improved.

Some people would say that being half deaf in one ear would put you in a slight disadvantage but sc productions used it to encouraged himself to concentrate even more on what true music really means, learning the wide range of raags and taals.

Saji & Suraj’s immense passion for music is what they aim to share with the world. 'Bhangra fever' has plagued the both since childhood, and in collaboration with each-other, their dynamic UK-Canadian team  shares it's love for music through air ways in Vancouver - 'Desi Beats!'

Desi Beats is geared towards the South-Asian based listeners who have grown up infused by eastern and western culture by giving them an opportunity to engage in the 'Desi Beats' adventure via on-air discussions, listening to frequent guest hosts, hearing live and in-studio artist interviews, and of course, the ability to make song requests!
