Jay Sean follows his smash hit comeback single ‘Ride It’ with a new track, ‘Maybe’, out on 2Point9/Jayded April 14th . A smooth, mid-tempo slab of olde skool, 80’s pure groove R’n’B, it’s produced by teenage West London production crew Sampson Productions.
Jay’s last single, ‘Ride It’, entered the charts at #11 in January, following a successful street campaign (highlighted by 2 million plays on YouTube) and culminating in strong national radio and TV support. ‘Ride It’ then lodged itself in the Top 20 for a month selling more than 50,000 units. "It was such a buzz when I got the chart position," Jay says, "as I realised people were feeling the music I’m making again."
On April 28th Jay releases his new album ‘My Own Way’, which was recorded in New York and London, and uses the production talents of J-Remy (Fabolous, DJ Clue) and Duro (Mariah Carey, Jay Z, Mary J Blige, Rhianna).
Says Jay: "I have brought a lot of traditional R&B flavour to this album, heavily focusing on the songs. Lyrically, I didn’t want to make an issue-heavy record, so a lot of it is about me, and stories of what I get up to when I’m out and about."
