Ankhi Jawan win Bhangra Wars 2015
Bhangra Wars 2015 was presented by Simplybhangra.com & PTC and took place on Saturday 17th October at the prestigious Wolverhampton Civic Hall. Although it is now over there is still more to come regarding the show.
The competition was a great success, there were 6 teams competing and the quality of talent portrayed by the dancers was phenomenal. The stage was graced with teams who were coached and managed by UKs top Bhangra Dancers known in the competitive scene. The atmosphere in the venue bought on by the hundreds of people in the audience was amazing. Each team was supported by the crowd and the performances were well received.
The Canadian team Surrey India Arts Club placed 3rd, followed by Lok Nach Bhangra Punjabian Da in a firm 2nd Place. Both these teams secured their placings based on overall scoring.
The winners who conquered "Battle of the Bhangra Teams" was London based Bhangra Academy Ankhi Jawan; who debuted with their all-female team. They made history at Bhangra Wars 2015 - no female team has ever won a UK competition. They vowed the judges and audience with their winning formula.
The three UK judges Vijay Anand Saini, Deepak Singh Sethi, Isha Berik has a difficult task of judging such talent on stage. The backstage atmosphere during the judging process was intense. The project manager was present at all times and states;"the judges were extremely professional and knew exactly how tough this would be. They didn't once get distracted and judged purely what was performed on stage."
The host of the show Dipps Bhamrah who has helped with the show and it wasn't just hosting but made sure everything would go to plan on stage, he's flexible and very professional. It's a joy working with him.
The show has grown in the last 4 years and has become more popular than ever. It initially made history by having the 1st international team ever to compete and then followed by an all female team win made it absolutely epic.
A lot of people and businesses sued apart in the success and we would like to thank each and everyone of you.

There was a target of £2000 for A Khalsa Aid project and this has been successfully reached. Announcements regarding this will be made in the coming weeks. Aaishas hope has had a fruitful journey with Bhangra Wars and hope it flourishes into reaching its goals in raising Autism awareness. A humble request Please keep supporting both causes.
