The competition took place on the 27th October in Heythorp hotel and spa, Oxford, where the 24 year old competed against hopefuls from across the country. She had previously won the judges hearts with her bubbly personality and stunning looks. But it was her dancing talent and remarkable qualities that helped her win the prestigious title of Miss India U.K. The prestigious Judges were Anuj Saxena, (actor, doctor, and industrialist) Dr David Hussain, (beauty doctor specialist and advisor to Metropolitan police force) Warren Waheswaren, (entrepreneur and Harley St beauty specialist) Robina Mumtaz (jewellery designer), and Chandni Chudasama representing Shahnaz Hussain.

Jaya Patel, National Director, of Miss India UK said:

“She has a strong chance of winning Miss India Worldwide 2013” Jaya went on to say “Nehal is an amazing individual who has shown that there are no limitations to the Human desire. Unable to hear or speak has not stopped her from fighting off the competition and go on to win the prestigious title of Miss India Worldwide UK 2013. The next stop for Nehal is international fame and lots of hard work for her charity. She raised a total of £621 for her charity in 3 weeks, an outstanding result and one of the best from the group.”

There were other prizes to be won on the night; in third place was Sukhi Atwal, Miss India Southampton & Portsmouth. 1st Princess went to Anu Sihota of West London. The competition consisted of three rounds, these included, a traditional round, a western round, a talent competition and finally a question and answer round. Nehal’s talent was dancing- an ability which she has been practising for over 10 years and has attended and won numerous awards for, despite not being able to hear the music.

She said “The biggest passion of my life is dancing. Though I can’t hear the music, I feel the vibrations of the music through my feet and count the beats. When I was little, I used to sit in front of the television and watch Bollywood films; I would just watch the dancers and wish I could dance like them. I started my first dance class at the age of 11”

Nehal, brand ambassador of charity Action Deafness, will now go through to the worldwide competition where she will compete with 45 young women from across the globe. The pageant will take place in April 2013, Malaysia.

Nehal who works as a community support worker, beauty therapist and dancer, also helped raise over £600 for charity in just 3 weeks for Ronald Mcdonald House which is charity for seriously ill children and their families.
