'Jigrey Yaaran De' feat the late Kaka Bhaniawala is the new single by Lux Phull out now via iTunes!

It was back in December 1993 when Lukhdeep Phull’s life would change forever. At the age of just 16 Lukhdeep, who is known as Lux, was stabbed in the spine at Leicester Square underground station and his spinal cord was severed. Initially in a wheelchair for several years, Lux fought to get back on his feet and he is now about to fulfil another ambition by releasing his first record.

Music has been an inspiration in Lux Phull’s life and has helped him through grit and determination to fight back from a knife injury that severed his spinal cord when he was a teenager.

After being attacked at an underground station when he was 16 years old Lux spent months in Stanmore Spinal Unit as his condition was assessed by consultants. When told the heart-breaking news that he would never walk again, unsurprisingly Lux’s reaction was to burst into tears. Lux left the spinal unit in April 1994 and returned back to the family home. His brother gave up his university course and together they journeyed to Gloucestershire where Lux attended physiotherapy and began to regain some function. “Standing up was the best feeling ever,” Lux recalls.

During the years that followed Lux had a fairly ordinary life. He restarted his education gaining a degree in multimedia computing, all the while continuing with a physio more local to home in Wembley. Gradually Lux began to regain functionality and movement and in 1998, some five years after his accident, Lux was able to park his wheelchair and has used only crutches since then.

Lux now continues to improve by attending neurokinex which is a new activity-based rehabilitation centre in Watford. The extraordinary non-profit facility provides specialist rehabilitation through exercise for people suffering from spinal cord injuries.

“neurokinex has really helped not just my physical condition but also my self-confidence and with that I am now pursuing what is my real passion in life,” says Lux.

He was always a shy character, but following his accident he became more self-conscious around others and always held people at arm’s length. Lux says: “I found that I spent more and more time listening to music and gradually over the years my interest in music became the main thing in my life.” Lux saved his earnings and eventually was able to start piecing together a recording studio at his home, and he has now written and is about to release his first solo track.

“The track follows my life and fuses the tradition of Bhangra music with modern music and life. The proceeds of sale of song are gong to go to Spinal Research Charity . Just something I’ve always wanted to do since i got injured.” The track is due to be released on 20th February, 2014 and is available on SpeakerBoxx Records via all major digital distribution vendors. Please visit www.youtube.com/speakerboxxtv for video teaser. Full video to follow one week prior to official audio release.

The thing I don't get these days is why on earth producers have to record a song by a deceased artiste can't they leave their tracks alone
How much money goes back to their families. ?????
How much goes into their own pockets???????
The fact that useless and meaningless producers have been a green light to produce shit [censored]ed music is beyond me by these record companies is a joke

I'm sure they do get some sort of com[censored]sa tion, unless someone else owns the rights to all of his music ( I don't follow punjabi music enough to know who).

So many woeful comments on this page about Kaka. I would rate him as one of the greatest singers that we have lost and the keyboard gangsters on this could not have sung like he did. Secondly, people calling him a [censored]do singer, guys, that was probably your dad once, difference being Kaka can sing. As for disrespecting the producer, the guy is doing what he loves, whilst battling an every day problem in his life, i don't mind a ten second insight at the end of his video and if anything leads me to really respect what the guy has gone through, it wasn't his choice he got stabbed, he could be sitting depressed and doing nothing with his life. Instead he fights and makes people more aware that even with a disability, don't give up your dreams.
The problem with Asians is, they love to Hate. There is no need to comment on a singer or producer negatively. Look, listen and leave the page if you have nothing decent or constructive to say. Banging Track. Kaka is one of the greatest.

Kaka's tutteh hadnt dropped so therefore he could hit those high notes. Once his tutteh dropped it wouldve been game over. Sorry ------------------------------- flat lined there sorry hes dead---------beep-------------beep

You make no sense man......, but
LOOK OUT for Kaka's next new track with Notorious Jatt, cause its going to be BIG, which was kaka,s last recording before passing away. Then there's also a moorni track with Jags Klimax and other tracks with AMX & Tru Skool that will be released in the near future.

What in the world does a Gareeb pindoo singer have to do with Being a Bhangra Artist, and Kaka having a Short Career. He had immense Talent and the ability sing in Two different vocal styles. I dont know how you deny Bhangra hits he made with producers like Notorious jatt, Tru Skool, Tiger style,Taj-e, [censored] m.c, M.c Special, and loads of others. Its as if he made their names shine, more then his.And the rocord label he was signed to Bazaar records in U.K really didnt use him well in terms of marketing him too the world, releaseing Albums, etc. This the same record label that had Gurbhej brar, J.k, Dippa, signed back in 2006. How many were well know around in the world back then.Nd also not forgetting producers in U.k that like to exploit Artist for personal gain.Ex.. DR. Zeus and Lehmber..... No wonder lehmber stop working with these producers releasing singles........ .I think you have a personal problem with Kaka...,, its all cool man.

THIS IS TO THE COMMENT BELOW....... In your view if Kaka is not a Real ARTIST, then where do you rate tracks like Daru peeke, Kise hor bnere, Nachna ounda nei, Jawani, Dushmani, Bandook, and others..... Any pindoo singer just doesnt start make hits without talent......& if kaka didnt sing at your mom's marriage, Please dont hate.LoL

HIT in what context backstreet cornershop BHANGRA. Love it how you personify he was an artist he barely made a good living from it. Go see his family really struggling at the moment. They never saw a [censored]ny from the benefit gig done in his name also never recieve any rolyaltied for his tracks etc. They lived hand to mouth mate. An artist in my opinion is someone who has longevity (has made there name not just amongst bhangra but in other markets as well). This guy was gareeb pindoo singer.
