At the age of 16 Shaan Akash recorded a German Street Mixtape entitled ‘Schlaflose Nächte’ which translates to ‘Sleepless Nights’. With this he won a school talent competition and from then on he knew he was born for the media, glamour and music.
After finishing his studies, Shaan moved from Germany back to India for 6 months where he began to have music lessons from Ustaad Varinder Bachan Ji, a well known music director in the Punjabi music industry.
Shaan went on to release a single entitled ‘Badshah’ which featured German rapper, Summer Cem. This single was one of a kind which uniquely had three languages in it – German, Punjabi and Turkish! This was released by Sony Music Germany. After the success of ‘Badshah’ Shaan met Bhangra star Nirmal Sidhu who pushed Shaan up in the Punjabi music industry.
