‘Highflyers’ are a talented young production team who certainly live up to their name – a duo of great ability and ambition. Highflyers consist of
Walsall based brothers DJ Gurj & Indie and the only way they see themselves going is up. Being part of the family who were the main driving force behind the very successful 80’s Bhangra group ‘Pardesi Music Machine’, Highflyers developed a solid background in
contemporary music with DJ Gurj starting as a DJ and then venturing into music production, and Indie playing a variety of percussion and playing drums in a Rock band. The hardworking pair spent the last four years painstakingly putting their forthcoming debut album together and the fruits of their labour are presented in their first single ‘Baa Farke’ – a classic, upbeat and danceable Bhangra track featuring the vocals of the late and great Kaka Bhaniawala.

“We received great feedback for Baa Farke from those who heard it, and together with Kaka’s mighty vocals providing the energy, it was inevitable that this would be the first single off of the album” explains DJ Gurj.

A music video to the single was shot by The Sound Pipe Media and features Highflyers doing their thing on the decks; “We were a little nervous at first but found it to be great fun and are very pleased with how it came out” explains Indie.
The single ‘Baa Farke’ by Highflyers featuring Kaka Bhaniawala will be available to download from iTunes from 1st September 2010.

Watch out for Highflyers self-titled debut album releasing soon on The Sound Pipe Records.

After hearing their 'Khalsa' track on the Shaheedi CD and this promo, for some reason, I believe that these guys can become superstars. Their production is so clean and original. Love it guys! Keep doing what you're doing. :)
