Jay Sean Lends His Voice To Politics!

Musial superstar, Jay Sean, will lend his voice and his support to Indian American political candidates at this year’s Indian American Leadership Initiative conference, “Supporting Our Political Pioneers” on July 24th in Washington, D.C.   Jay Sean will attend “Behind The Mic: JAY SEAN and the New Era of Indian Americans in Politics,” as an honored guest along with Jay Goyal, Ohio Legislature Majority Whip; Raj Goyle, Kansas Legislature and Candidate for Congress; Manan Trivedi, Candidate for Congress (Pennsylvania) and Ravi Sangisetty, Candidate for Congress (Louisiana).

Shedding light on his admiration for South Asian American political candidates, Jay Sean says:

“I am really excited about participating in the IALI conference this weekend. I'm proud of these pioneering South Asians being celebrated for their individual talents and gifts, and happy to lend my support.”

The Indian American Leadership Initiative increases opportunities for civic and political participation by Indian Americans at every level of local, state and federal government.

This year there are six Indian-Americans running for congressional seats, the strongest visibility the South Asian community has ever had. In addition, there are six Indian Americans seeking re-election for State legislature positions, an Indian American leading the polls for Attorney General of California and a candidate for Governor in South Carolina. As an icon in mainstream America with South Asian roots, Jay Sean is helping to raise awareness and support the South Asian community’s presence in politics.

Jay Sean is a British-born musical sensation signed to Cash Money Records. His song ‘Down,’ from his American debut album, All Or Nothing, was number one on iTunes and Billboards.
