Ugly aur pagli

Comedy Bollywood film starring Ranvir Shorey and Mallika Sherawat, directed by Sachin Khot and produced by Pritish Nandy.  The movie is about love in a wicked style and yet another movie copied from the Korean movie called 'My Sassy Girl'.

A self confessed loser, Kabir (Ranvir Shorey) finds a new identity as he becomes the envy of all his friends when he meets the sexy and beautiful Kuhu (Malika Sherawat). Kabir falls in love at first sight when he saves Kuhu from falling in front of an approaching train. However, this fairytale unfolds in a completely unexpected way...

Kuhu is a very eccentric, bossy and strong female; she finds her opposite in Kabir who is a complete push over. Kuhu's far from lady like mannerisms and alcohol addiction only adds to her extreme and bizarre behaviour, which completely catches Kabir off guard. But from the first night Kabir cannot resist leaving her presence as her beauty and demanding personality finds a place in his heart. Kuhu becomes his priority in life, and he goes to great lengths to see a smile on her face.

A long and complicated but never the less loving relationship grows between Kabir and Kuhu, but Kuhu's parents object to her spending time with him. So when her parents are out of town Kuhu takes Kabir to Goa. In the beautiful surroundings, romance begins to build between her and Kabir as their friendship escalates to the next level.

Kuhu finds herself smitten over Kabir, but her underlying past is complicating the relationship with him. Kuhu having lost her previous boyfriend had initially thought that Kabir could take his place, but her mind refuses to let go of the past. After her realising this, Kuhu separates with Kabir leaving him in the dark about her true feelings.

A long and agonising separation between Kuhu and Kabir only increases their love for each other, as they both find that life without one another is miserable. A suitor for Kuhu is introduced to her by her parents, but she finally realises that she is still in love with Kabir.

The film breaks the Bollywood archetypes of a hero and heroine; instead we are introduced to unfamiliar and very strange characters. Madness, alcohol and random coincidences is the mixture that creates a different dimension to this love story, making this a hilarious yet touching film.
