Living up to his name, Northern Lights aka Tarv brings us another radiance of solid, jump up, magnetic beats in his new single ‘Do Some Bhangra’ (Feat. Mehi and Mr Cas), check out the full video here!
Representing the cream of UK Bhangra music-production, Northern Lights brings up the bar yet again with this vigorous number, set to take the dance floors by storm. Described by Nihal (BBC Radio 1) as “Proper big old Bhangra track… strong contender for a big summer banger”, ‘Do Some Bhangra’ presents an underlying concoction of traditional composition, resonating with overlying waves of Northern Light’s trademark sounds. As Bobby Friction (BBC Asian Network) described, “this is him back doing what he used to do…making brilliant and original tracks”.
After a stream of notable singles like ‘Billo Tere Nakre’, ‘Janaab’, ‘Nakreh’ and ‘Karle Pasand’ to name a few, Tarv has recently served up an official remix for Ashley Walter’s (aka Asher D, So Solid Crew) ‘How You like Me Now’, and is due to complete an official remix for Alesha Dixon this September. With ‘Do Some Bhangra’ now added to his armoury, Northern Light’s is set to enslave us in another vigorous round of brewing beats.
‘Do Some Bhangra’ features the latest signing to Organised Rhyme, UK vocalist Mehi. Raised in London, Mehi is a true case of raw talent sprouting from the legacy left by iconic role models such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Sabri Brothers. Having the vocally alluring talent and skill of a traditional ‘old-school’ singer, it’s easy to forget that Mehi is one of the freshest gifts to the UK homegrown scene. With his level of artistic brilliance, Mehi will be carving out his name in the UK Bhangra industry.
Party Host Mr Cas also makes a debut feature on ‘Do Some Bhangra’ bringing an old school hype to the track.
Perfecting the marriage of Mehi’s spiralling, velvet smooth vocals, and Northern Light’s staggering sizzling beats, Organised Rhyme invites you to the dance floor to #DoSomeBhangra.
The Full Music Video is directed by The Soundpipe and features the world famous Virsa Punjab Dance Troop of the London Olympics 2012 closing ceremony
Two mixes of the single will be released on 16th August 2012 via digital stores.
